We recommend starting here in every style, even if you’ve danced elsewhere—it’s your chance to grow from the foundation up.
For students with little to no dance experience, this level is designed to build your confidence from the ground up. Whether it’s your very first class or you’ve had a taste and want to refine your basics, this is where your journey begins. -
This level is for advanced beginners and emerging intermediate dancers. You’ll need some prior experience—at least a year in the style or similar movement training. Here, you’ll begin exploring more technique, musicality, and choreography without the constant repetition of the basics. A great next step to build range, confidence, and consistency.
-
This level is for experienced dancers only. It assumes a high level of skill, body awareness, and performance ability. Choreography is fast-paced and challenging, and the class is not slowed down for breakdowns. Best suited for dancers who train regularly.
We are encouraging and enforcing students to drop-down a level for showcase, especially if it is your first time on stage. Aside from choreography, you need to learn longer routines, perform without mirrors, learning positions and dance in synchronisation as well has hold stage presence. This is why we recommend dropping a level to ensure a positive experience for all.
“progress looks different for everyone.”
what is the showcase?
This is the first DHU showcase in two years! A student showcase is an exciting opportunity to take your dancing from the studio to the stage, performing live in front of family, friends, and supporters. These courses are designed to boost your confidence, enhance your performance skills, build stronger connections, and explore key elements of dance such as blocking, stage etiquette, group synchronisation, timing/canons, and stage presence.
For this showcase, we will be introducing a registration process. Students will be accepted into courses based on their experience with the style, level, and instructor. This ensures a positive and rewarding experience for you, your teachers, and your dance team.
This year we are only hosting ONE performance, with a separate stage and dress rehearsal. It is important to attend every session.
-
One big performance – We’re focusing all our energy on one incredible show, rather than two on the same day.
Earlier studio dress rehearsal – This ensures routines are performance-ready and any costume issues are resolved well in advance.
Elevated costumes & props – We’ve increased the costume budget and introduced a music & prop levy to take performances to the next level.
Dedicated stage rehearsal – A separate weeknight rehearsal at the venue gives dancers real stage experience before the big night.
Longer and more rehearsals – We’ve added extra rehearsal time and longer sessions to help you feel fully prepared and confident.
Special concert keepsake – In addition to professional video and photography, every dancer will receive a memorable keepsake.
Priority to regular students – Bookings are only accepted from current, regular students with adequate experience in the style, level, and with the instructor.
